Vanward
Captain a fleet in a living, shared sector.
Vanward is a multiplayer space sandbox where you captain a fleet, trade, fight, and carve out a place in a living sector shared with other players. It takes inspiration from the depth of single-player games like Starsector and is built for online play from the ground up.
PC: Windows, Linux, Steam Deck · Steam (planned)
WHAT_IT_IS
A persistent, shared sector
The world keeps running between sessions and is shared with other players, instead of resetting each time you log off.
Real-time fleet combat
Real-time combat across fleets of ships, with the heavy simulation designed to run on a dedicated, performance-focused engine.
Built for multiplayer from day one
Vanward is being built on a distributed, fault-tolerant backend designed for online play and persistence from the start, not a single-player game with multiplayer bolted on later.
WHERE_IT_STANDS
Early development
Vanward is early. The current focus is validating the core architecture (real-time combat, multiplayer networking, and a persistent world) before a vertical slice of gameplay. There is no public build yet.
Planned for PC (Windows, Linux, and Steam Deck) on Steam. The feature set and timeline are still taking shape.
